Ultra rare color photos of Colombian soldiers in the Korean War, taken by artillery corporal Gilberto Díaz, former member of Batallón Colombia N°1, the battalion that fought in the peninsula from 1951 to 1953

Colombia was the only South American country to send men to the war, totaling 5,000 thousand, but never more than 1,000 at a time, ending the campaign with 163 dead, 448 wounded and 28 POW.

As a personal note, dad was active in the Colombian army around that time, where he requested to be send to fight in the war, something the army rejected, which to this day still haunts him.
